Travellers in Thunder Bay are experiencing the ramifications of the massive ice storm that has hit Central and Eastern Canada.
At least 15 flights either arriving in or departing from the Thunder Bay International Airport were either delayed or cancelled on Sunday, one of the busiest travel days of the year.
Air Canada cancelled four flights that were scheduled to connect Thunder Bay in Toronto, each scheduled for the late afternoon or evening. Those cancellations are in addition to three others earlier in the day.
United Airlines cancelled their morning flight bound to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, and Porter Airlines cancelled their 4:30 p.m. flight from Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport as well as their 5 p.m. from Thunder Bay to Toronto.
Four other flights from Toronto were experiencing delays, as well as four that were departing from Thunder Bay for the provincial capital.
