Atikokan death investigated

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a sudden death in Atikokan.

Members of the Rainy River District Crime Unit, a scenes of crime officer from Atikokan and the Thunder Bay forensic unit were brought in to help with the investigation.

Police did not reveal any information about the deceased, including the sex or age of the victim, who was located in the 100 block of River Road in the Northwestern Ontario community.

The OPP is working in consultation with the chief coroner`s office to confirm the date of a post-mortem.
