City police are investigating a pair of stabbings that were reported Thursday evening.
Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say the first incidents was reported shortly after 8 p.m. Police say they received a call about a woman victim in the 100 block of May Street.
The woman was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where she was treated for what was described as non-life threatening injuries.
Police believe the attacker and victim were known to each other.
The second reported stabbing took place shortly after 9 p.m.
City police responded to the Picton Street area after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed in the stomach.
This victim was also transported to the region’s hospital, but required surgery.
The man accused in this stabbing was taken into custody and also transported to the hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained in the original incident.
Police say both investigations are ongoing.
