City police have arrested a suspect in connection with a January convenience store robbery.

Detectives with the Thunder Bay Police Service have arrested a 26-year-old local man following an investigation into the Jan. 5 robbery of the Mac’s mart on 745 Simpson Street.

During their investigation, police said the lone male had entered the store armed with a syringe at about 10:30 p.m. that night. He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect police arrested now faces one count of robbery and will appear in court on Jan. 8.
