The province is spending $3.2 million to replace the Swamp River bridge west of Shebandowan.
The contract to do the Highway 11 work, which will create 32 temporary jobs, was awarded to LH North Ltd.
Work is expected to begin in the spring.
“The reconstruction of the bridge will be greatly appreciated by travellers on the Trans-Canada Highway as well as many people who rely on it for access to local recreational properties,” said MPP Bill Mauro (Lib., Thunder Bay-Atikokan) in a release.
