Thunder Bay man facing more charges in historic sexual assault case

A Thunder Bay man is facing additional charges in connection with a series of alleged historic sexual assaults.

A Thunder Bay man is facing additional charges in connection with a series of alleged historic sexual assaults.

Gary Lamont, 52, was taken into custody in December following an investigation into incidents that reportedly occurred between 1997 and 2007, both in the city of Thunder Bay and at Warnica Lake in Jacques Township.

At that time three male victims were identified and a total of eight charges were laid including sexual assault and forcible confinement.

Police say further investigation has identified more victims, all between the ages of 17 and 24 at the time of the alleged offences.

Lamont is facing five more counts, including sexual assault and sexual assault with a weapon.

OPP continue to ask anyone with information on these or other occurrences to contact them.
