City police say Frank Vantroba has turned himself in.

The Thunder Bay Police Service issues an arrest warrant Tuesday after the 57-year-old man failed to appear for the first day of his trial for criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

The charge stems from an incident where a dog belonging to Vantroba allegedly mauled an 11-year-old boy at Tarbutt Park in November 2012.

Vantroba was scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.
