A cyclist suspected of smashing vehicle windows and stealing some of the goods inside was sent to the hospital after a collision with a car.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to reports of a man smashing a vehicle’s window just after 9 p.m. Tuesday at the CLE grounds on Northern Avenue. Witnesses say the man had fled the area on a bicycle.
Later that night police responded to a collision at Finlayson and May Streets. The crash involved a cyclist and a car.
Officers at the scene of the crash found a Dewalt tool box with various tools.
The 48-year-old cyclist, suspected of being the man who smashed vehicle windows earlier that night, was sent to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The man has been charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.
The suspect has also been charged with failing to yield under the Highway Traffic Act.
