Bearskin Airlines is terminating a number of flights from its schedule, mainly in Southern Ontario.

Starting next week, Bearskin will no longer be offering service to Ottawa or the Waterloo region.

Director of Marketing Ron Hell told Thunder Bay Television Wednesday that  the cost of delivering passenger air service to those centres has been increasing, and the revenues have not kept pace.

Bearskin will also be reducing service between Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, North Bay, Timmins and Kapuskasing.

Hell said they will continue to service all those markets, but with fewer flights per day.

The changes take effect April 1.

Anyone with a flight already booked for Ottawa or Kitchener-Waterloo will be fully reimbursed.

Hell added that some Bearskin pilots and other staff will be impacted, but he could not say how many.
