This seems to be the winter that will never end.

Environment Canada placed Thunder Bay in a winter storm watch as of 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning, forecasting a fresh batch of precipitation to arrive in the city on Monday.

The weather service is calling for snow and ice pellets up to five to 10 centimetres with winds averaging 40 kilometres per hour. With temperatures expected to hover around the freezing point, there is also a chance for freezing rain.

That is expected to be followed up with periods of snow on Tuesday as well.

The good news for residents is that they will have one day to enjoy spring conditions before the wrath of winter returns, with Envrionment Canada expecting a high of 7C on Sunday.

Right about now I'm of the mind that if Mother Nature puts snow on the ground, she can bloody well clean it up herself.

Name it "Spot" or whatever you want. Truth is this is all just natural despite how important it makes you feel when you talk about it.

I suspected there were Thunder Bay people in denial about climate change when I see the lines of vehicles in the drive through and empty vehicles idling away unnecessarily .
Thanks for confirming my suspicion.

The climate has been changing for about the last 4.5 Billion years, its only in the last 20 that a few have figured out how to make money from that.

Yes, its a massive secret conspiracy amongst thousands of scientists and hundreds of governments of all levels to transfer wealth from oil and energy companies to...who?
3/31/2014 9:18:48 AM
S Duncan says:
You forgot to mention that those scientists used deliberately falsified data by the IPCC to serve their own agenda.

These scientists hate to admit they were wrong because they were misdirected and its easier to keep on claiming they were right.

Luckily the flawed data was exposed and now we can easily discount your "thousands of scientists and hundreds of countries" conclusions.

If you keep repeating a lie over and over again people like you might tend to believe it. The rest of us still know a lie when we see it.

If I told you that 2+2=22 would you keep on telling everybody that I was right?
3/31/2014 11:11:22 AM
dillon says:
Wow...so now it's that the IPCC invented climate change, and all the scientists not connected to the IPCC studying different aspects of climate change decided to take the IPCC's data, as opposed to their own data from their own experiments and studies, and when the IPCC's data was exposed as "flawed" (calling all their data flawed is also an extreme exaggeration and distortion) all these scientists decided en masse that they would not change their finders for fear of being "wrong". And it all serves to further the IPCC's agenda of shifting wealth from oil companies to...umm..who exactly? What is this agenda?
This makes much more sense than climate change being real, and oil companies "poisoning the well" if you will, in regards to the debate by distorting and lying about facts so keep their precious profits. Keep repeating the lies yourself, S Duncan. You're a corporate shill. Congrats!
3/31/2014 2:28:11 PM
fastball says:
Constantly repeating a falsehood doesn't eventually make it the truth, SD.
The discrepancies in the scientists' alleged lies were basically contained in ONE paragraph of a 1000 page report...and so miniscule and irrelevant to the whole as to be practically rendered statistically insignificant. The issue was about the projected melting date of single Himalayan glacier - and the veracity of some non-peer reviewed data used in their calculations.
Basically, you're pointing to a single green oasis in the Sahara...and claiming that the millions of square miles of sand cannot be a called a desert.
3/31/2014 3:01:57 PM
S Duncan says:
You're in the denial stages I see.

There was enormous amounts of falsified data which climate-gate revealed to the world.

but don't sweat it, you'll reach the acceptance stage sooner or later. Most of the educated world has. Theres still some hard nosers that refuse to admit they were had.

Its OK, the world has places for your type too.

3/31/2014 3:36:40 PM
Neebing1414 says:
but who is to say the people who figured out the data was "false" were not lying..

if they told you to jump would you ask "how high?"
3/31/2014 6:30:00 PM
fastball says:
Yes, they used a non peer-reviewed report in their calcuations...but even the guy who pointed that out said in his report "that the "2035" figure in the second sentence of the WGII paragraph was apparently a typographic error. He concluded, "This was a bad error. It was a really bad paragraph, and poses a legitimate question about how to improve IPCC’s review process. It was not a conspiracy. The error does not compromise the IPCC Fourth Assessment, which for the most part was well reviewed and is highly accurate."

All you're doing is discrediting the messenger in hopes that you can obscure the message.
I find it totally ironic (and hilarious) that you would choose to use the phrase "educated world" as a place of which you have any passing familiarity.
3/31/2014 8:28:55 PM
S Duncan says:
You sound like Charlie Brown's teacher at this point.

You're so mixed up you laughingly discredit your own argument.

You alarmists don't do well with facts anyway, your whole routine is emotion, and in the end emotion doesn't rule the day.
4/1/2014 9:05:42 AM
fastball says:
Well, as an "educated man" - I'm sure you watched the National last night.
What do you think was the lead story? That's right - a major scientific report put out by the UN, warning about the effects of climate change.
But then again, if all you do is listen to the sound of your own braying - you never have to worry about anything else intruding on your own cacophony.
