THUNDER BAY -- A woman accused of murder has been released on bail.

Priscilla Thomas, 38, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Jeffrey Munroe, 35. The incident happened in an apartment building on the corner of Kingsway Avenue and Walsh Street on Jan. 25.

Thomas was granted bail by a Superior Court judge Wednesday morning at the Thunder Bay Courthouse.

Her lawyer Francis Thatcher told TBT News that Thomas was released on bail with several conditions, including a strict curfew. She is also not allowed to associate with several family members who may have to be called as witnesses.

In January, police said the investigation revealed a domestic altercation had occurred between Thomas and Munroe, who lived together.

The altercation escalated and Munroe was stabbed; alcohol was a factor, said police.

Munroe was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

There are no dates set yet for Thomas' preliminary hearing.
