THUNDER BAY -- School buses have been canceled for rural and city students.

The bus cancellation follows a heavy overnight snowfall that left much of the area covered in more than 15 centimetres of snow this morning.

Eight rural schools have also been closed following the storm. Those schools include: Crestview, Five Mile, Gorham and Ware, McKenzie, Nor’Wester View, Whitefish Valley, Valley Central and Kakabeka Falls.

The Thunder Bay Christian School has also suspended operations for the day.
