THUNDER BAY -- City police hope the public can help them identify the suspect of a recent grocery store robbery.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service released an image and video (see below) of a woman believed to be connected with the Safeway’s robbery at North Court Street.

Police say store security, suspicious that the woman had been shoplifting, followed her toward the south exit doors at about 10:40 p.m. Thursday, April 24.

When approached the woman, she pulled out a knife and threatened the security staff.

The woman was last seen heading down Tupper Street toward Cumberland Street.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a woman of about 30-years-old with a thin build. She wore a navy winter jacket with fur trim and  skinny jeans tucked into high-heeled brown boots at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information about the identity or the woman is asked to contact the Thunder Bay Police Service at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online at www. tipsumit.com.
