The cool weather has pushed back spring leaf and yard waste collection dates.

Originally scheduled for early May, collection is now scheduled to take place between May 27 and June 6.

Homeowners are reminded they may use Kraft paper bags or clear plastic bags for collection. There is no bag limit, but bags must weigh 18 kilograms or less.

You mean the leaves that will be used to make compost? Those are the ones you're worried about rotting?

My leaves have been raked, bagged and will be put out for pickup on garbage day and they will sit on the side of the street until they are gone.

My 14, clear plastic bags, all full of leaves and pine cones, are going to be placed on the ice. When the thaw comes…………

so, when they have to dump them at the landfill compost it will take extra time, therefore extra costs... or they'll just toss it in the garbage pile..

both of these options waste taxpayer money. well done.

patti....had everything melted "on time" they would have been sitting in plastic bags until this week anyway. So what's the big deal?

and if they had left the date the same, there would be people complaining that they cannot clean their yards yet due to the snow.

There is just no pleasing some people. Hold onto it for a few weeks and get rid of it then.
