THUNDER BAY -- City police have set up a special tip line as they continue an investigation into the Monday discovery of an infant’s body.

Investigators with the Thunder Bay Police Service marked off a crime scene around a wooded area on the north side of Delaney Arena, from the skate park to the CEISS building, Monday afternoon.

The coroner and the police’s forensic unit then began their investigation of  the wooded area along the southern bank of the Neebing River.

Few other details about the investigation are known at this time, but police did confirm that a post-mortem exam is set for Wednesday in Toronto.

Meanwhile, the public can access a special tip line at 684-1055.

Police spokesman Chris Adams says the tip line could prove as an important tool as investigators.

“Tip lines are set up in such a way that it gives investigators quicker access to information as it comes in,” Adams said during an interview with CKPR Radio Tuesday.

“If a person has information and they’re concerned about their anonymity , then the best thing they can do is to call Crime Stoppers.”
