THUNDER BAY -- More than 500 police officers from across North America could attend the funeral services for Const. Joseph Prevett.

Const. Prevett, the Thunder Bay Police Service’s lone K-9 officer, suffered a suspected heart attack Wednesday during a training session with his new dog, Timber, at Gravenhurst, Ont.

The city’s police force released details for the funeral services, which are set to take place on May 15.

The services will include:

An officers march at 10:15 a.m. from 1805 East Arthur Street - the old provincial court - to St. Patrick's Cathedral at 211 Archibald Street.
Funeral mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral at 11 a.m.

Formal reception at the main ballroom of the Valhalla Inn following the service.

Internment will occur at a later date.

There will be a number of police K-9 officers and their police dogs attending.
