Catholic school board names new director of education

THUNDER BAY -- The region’s separate school board has named a new director of education.

The Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board’s board of trustees on Monday named Pino Tassone as its new director of education.

Tassone, currently the superintendent of education for Grades 7 through 12, has 26 years of experience within the board, and began his career as a special education teacher at St. Ignatius High School.

During his career in education, Tassone served as a teacher, vice-principal and principal. He gained experience with the school’s extracurricular programs as coach and head coach for a variety of sports.
