Listen up Liberterians..Tamara Johnson was invited..She was contacted through Kevin Gagnon the Ontario Liberterian Rep..on the OLP site..If Kevin didn't contact her that is the fault of the OLP ..sloopy work..If Tamara wanted to be contacted personally ..she should have her name..address and phone number on the OLP site..gain very sloppy..Tamara Johnson knows she has been invited..but continues to be critical of LUSU and anyone else involved in this debate..Her negative energy is going out to her gang on her site as being the victim in all this..You can see by the letters in the comments how its worked and incited her gang.Tamara tell you fans the truth how you have been invited..tha take the 3 minutes to confirm you are coming to the debate..All the times you complained about being left out of debates..Ok here is your chance..LUSU was kind enough to include you.Are web getting cold feet Tamara?.Remember Tamara the Truth..

I can only speak for myself but my post was written before Leith posted the "clarification". As I'm sure you're aware we have no control over when our comments get posted.

Secondly to your point about the deficit under Harper. How convenient for you that you fail to realize that much of the deficit was due to the "governments hand being forced" by the threat of defeating the Conservative government (they had a minority @ the time) by a "coalition government" (Liberals, NDP, Bloc) if they didn't come up with a massive "stimulus spending program".

They were also "forced" to "bail-out" Government Motors & Chrysler by the same coalition along with the FASCIST IDIOT POTUS down south.

Try to be honest.

You know, I have to admit she's made me think a few times about the issues she stands behind. I don't agree with the abusive name calling on her FB site, but she does have a point on occasion.

I actually thought she was being ousted by not being invited to the debate. Then reading LUSU's admins saying that for whatever reason if she was not contacted (her party contact was according to them), then they opened the phone lines and email to call them so she can be included.

All she's done is complain that she wasn't asked. Sounds like an excuse for not wanting to participate. Maybe her words behind the keyboard are safer than actual interaction with a candidate.

Now's the time Tamara...put your money where your mouth is. The doors are open. Speak up now or forever hold your peace. We're waiting.

No one will be listening to your excuses Tuesday morning.

ah mike, asking some to think would be asking YQTYQT to have an opinion outside of bashing Liberals. He never seems to talk about the largest deficits in Canadian History while Stephan Harper was in charge. As for this article. The 2nd posting by Mr. Dunick seems pretty clear. Mr. Dunick, in the future you may wish to post right below the article itself as it seems folks are too busy wanting to criticize instead of reading the additional information you provided.

As for my buddy YQTYQT-- it is amazing that lying to voters about the size of the deficit in the 2003 election was okay. Selling the 407 to friends for pennies no problem. Gutting social services, firing nurses, closing hospitals, eliminating water and safety inspectors, all A okay to you right YQTYQT.

You must leave a rather hollow life. All you do is complain. Like the BEAV and S. Duncan. Non-stop complaining. Life is not that bad. Go outside. Smell a flower. Smile at a baby. In other words. Get a life already.

As for all the likes you got on your comment tab, if I stayed up allnight clicking agreed I too would look like a star commenter. Get a life. You are wasting the one given to you.

This is where I have a problem with her response. LUSU said they sent the invitation to the Party contact. She says she didn't get it. Lets say we give her the benefit of the doubt and say she didn't get the invite.

LUSU has responded by saying regardless of the invite she's welcome to participate if she calls the office. Sounds like a public invite to me.

Yet on her Facebook page and LUSU's FB page she keeps harping on the fact she wasn't invited.

You've been publically invited. Now show up and debate. We want to see if you have what it takes.

No one will be listening to the excuses on Tuesday.

Another reason to not put any stock in the postings on this site. It doesn't seem like anyone takes the time to read or think for themselves. It clearly doesn't state in the article Tamara Johnson was not invited and as it turns out she has been and simply hasn't responded. Start taking a second to actually think.

It would have been helpful if you had mentioned in the story that ALL candidates had been invited but no reply had been received yet by the Libertarian candidate.

It would have avoided the remarks.

The Beaver..... says:
The Liberals have been beset by scandals and project cost overruns. They’ve managed to drive up the province’s debt-to-GDP ratio from 26.6 per cent to 40.3 per cent during their tenure. In the past seven years, they have added $120-billion to Ontario’s net debt.

With stewardship like that, does any voter seriously believe the Liberals will take a $12.5-billion deficit in 2014-15 to a balanced budget in three years? If so, they should make book now on the Toronto Maple Leafs winning the Stanley Cup.
Ontario is like the proverbial frog in warm water that has not yet reached the boiling point. The frog is actually reasonably comfortable, despite the occasional ache and pain. This is what Ms. Wynne is counting on: comfort today with the promise of even more tomorrow. This is leadership..???

This is making then ews this morning

I'm only guessing @ this point but considering the debate is being sponsored by LU, Con College, LSPC & FWFN, they've determined that she is a "racist" so that precludes her from the debate.

At posting time with 548 votes cast
Northern Ontario Heritage Party 1.8%
Green Party 4.7%

Libertarian 6%

With almost as much as the other two combined, you've chosen to exclude the Libertarian Candidate, yet included them! Is it any wonder people in this city consider the local media a farce?

sprintfan says:
Why has Libertarian Candidate, Tamara Ward Johnson not been extended an invitation? She has quite obviously been deliberately excluded, quite typical of TB media! I can only guess they do not want to ruffle Mike or Andrew's feathers? The Libertarian Party has previously ran candidates locally, but the Green party is more relevant? And what is the Northern Ontario Heritage Party? Shameful Selective Exclusion!

Dear Sirs/Madam,

I would like to encourage you to consider all parties in your political debate. I know that the Ontario Libertarian Party may seem new in your region, but I can assure you that we have been around for decades slowly growing. We have grown to the point where today we are running sufficient candidates in the June 12th election to form a majority government.

We are no longer a fringe party, but rather a strong and every growing grass roots party that sees an opportunity to bring a positive change to Ontario politics.

We are fiscally conservative keeping the lives, liberty and property of the people as paramount importance.

We have a candidate running in the Thunder Bay area. Her name is Tamara Johnson. I urge you to contact her and to add her to your debate. I think you will find the Libertarian message to be a welcomed change from the standard statist views of the big tent parties.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this issue.

You're missing a candidate. Regardless of your opinion of her, Tamara is a legitimate candidate running for a party with 74 total candidates and deserves the same opportunities in this debate as everyone else..

From their Facebook page:

"We would like to clarify to everyone who has inquired or commented: All candidates registered in the Thunder Bay-Superior North riding were contacted by LUSU and have a standing invitation to attend. And so do all of you!

We are looking forward to a vibrant and inclusive discussion about the future of our region and province. See you Monday!"

Tamara Johnson is welcome to participate in Monday's debate. She has yet to confirm with LUSU, which is why her name isn't listed. Neither LUSU nor TB Newswatch is going to say she's coming if she hasn't told anyone she is. Nowhere in the article does it say she wasn't invited.
