University student union hosting debate featuring Superior-North candidates

THUNDER BAY -- Candidates running to represent the city’s north-side provincial riding will face off Monday in a newly organized debate.

Called the People’s Debate, the Lakehead University Student Unions hosted event will have Thunder Bay - Superior North candidates debate at The Outpost on campus at Lakehead University Monday, June 2.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the hour-long debate is set to start at 7 p.m.

Confirmed candidates for the debate include:

  • Andrew Foulds, NDP
  • Michael Gravelle, Liberal Party
  • Joe Leblanc, Green Party
  • Derek Parks, Progressive Conservative
  • Paul Sloan, Northern Ontario Heritage Party

The debate will be moderated by Jason Maclean, a professor from the university’s school of law.

The event is also sponsored by Fort William First Nation, the Lakehead Social Planning Council, and the Student Union of Confederation College.
