THUNDER BAY -- The recreation trails at Boulevard Lake will be receiving an upgrade this summer but it will affect access to the popular location.
Starting on Monday, the southbound lane of West Lyon Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic from the intersection at Arundel Street to the Sandy Cove parking lot to begin construction to create a separated recreation trail.
The northbound lane will remain open to vehicular traffic while the southbound lane will be used as a temporary recreation trail.
It is expected construction will be completed by the end of August.
At some point during the construction period both lanes as well as the pedestrian trail will be closed to install culverts.
