City police board members to serve with provincial police association

THUNDER BAY -- Two members of the city’s police board are being appointed to the Ontario Association of Police Services Boards.

Thunder Bay Police Service board member Coun. Joe Virdiramo, who is the current chair of the local board, along with Donald Smith, who is the current vice-chair, have received the appointment for 2014 and 2015.

Coun. Virdiramo has served wtih the local board for seven years Before becoming the board’s chair, he held the title of vice-chair from 2007 to 2010.

Smith was appointed to the board by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services in September 2013. He’s held the title of vice-chair since January, 2014.
