THUNDER BAY -- A city man facing numerous charges in relation to allegations of a series of underage sexual assaults is set to appear in both provincial and superior court next week.

Police charged Jeff Paxton, 46, in June 2013 with 10 offences after victims came forward alleging they had been sexually assaulted by the former bible-camp counsellor. In August 2013, 13 more charges were laid.

A total of 11 victims have come forward.

Police say the alleged victims range in age from seven to 14 when the assaults are said to have occurred.

The charges stem from incidents that occurred between 1983 and 2004, during which time Paxton served as a counsellor at Round Lake Bible camp, was involved with local churches, acted as a babysitter and ran the Great Northwest Coffee Company.

Paxton is not in custody and is scheduled to appear in Superior court's assignment court on Monday and then on June 27 in provincial court - both at the Thunder Bay Courthouse on North Brodie Street.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
