OPP find body of missing swimmer on Lake of the Woods

The OPP’s  underwater search and rescue unit has recovered the body of a swimmer who went missing shortly after Saturday night near bigelow island on Lake of the Woods.

The man was swimming at 9 p.m. near a cottage. The man dove into the water and did not resurface.

Police were called to the scene where the man was last seen.

Police have since identified the victim as Christopher Silman, 29, of Winnipeg.

A post-mortem exam was scheduled for Tuesday.
