An aggravated assault investigation has become a homicide after the 52-year-old victim died Tuesday afternoon.

Christopher Adams succumbed to his injuries at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre around 1 p.m. Tuesday; he was a victim of an assault in front of city hall on July 1.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say officers responded to the scene at the corner of May and Donald Streets just after 2:30 a.m. following a 911 call by a passerby.

Police say four people were involved in the incident. Three men and one woman fled the scene before police arrived.

Adams appeared to have been the victim of a robbery.

Police are looking for the four suspects involved. The three men are described as Aboriginal, one thin and two heavier set. The other suspect is described as a five-foot-four Aboriginal woman.

Police did not have any further details about these four suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Thunder Bay Police Service’s criminal investigations branch at 684-1237 or Crime Stoppers at www.tipsubmit.com.
