Health Unit issues swimming advisory for Boulevard Lake beach

By tbnewswatch.com

THUNDER BAY -- The health unit has issued a swimming advisory for the main beach at Boulevard Lake.

The  Wednesday advisory from the Thunder Bay and District Health Unit is a response to high levels of E. coli bacteria in the water.
People can still swim at their own risk, although the bacteria may cause infections and other adverse effects.

Health unit officials say people who do swim should avoid swallowing beach water, towel off after a swimming and shower once they’re back at home. These steps will help reduce the risk of infection.

The advisory comes two weeks after a permanent swimming advisory was placed on the Chippewa Park main beach.

More information can be found on the Thunder Bay District Health Unit’s website.

Let's not forget what the word "advisory" means. The beach is not closed.

Maybe we should only give humans access cards to the lake to keep out the geese and other birds that make the mess, and take a lesson from the Residents in Shuniah. Maybe build a gate around and hire coyotes to keep them out too. Pretty Soon there will be no places to swim in NWO!

Dredging the lake costs money and would be change. We can't spend money or change things. I'm sorry, but dredging the lake can't be done.
