THUNDER BAY -- A local man convicted of possession of child pornography will spend 90 days in jail.

Terrence Richard Roe, 43, pleaded guilty to the possession charge Friday at the Thunder Bay Courthouse.

Roe was arrested last December after a search of his computer, seized in a Nov. 28 search of his Cumberland Street residence, resulted in the discovery of 25 photos and 24 videos deemed to be child pornography by the Thunder Bay Police Service's cyber crime unit.

Roe was also charged with accessing child pornography and making child pornography available. However, those charges were withdrawn Friday.

The Crown and defence made a joint sentence submission, which the judge accepted, for a 90-day jail term, the mandatory minimum on the possession charge.

Roe's sentence includes two-years probation and he is required to report to the provincial sexual offender registry for 10 years.
