By Leith Dunick, tbnewswatch.com

Police have made an arrest related to a pair of recent pharmacy robberies.

In a release issued on Monday, police say they were running the plates of a suspicious vehicle at the corner of Frederica and James streets on Saturday night around 11 p.m. when the owner approached. Police recognized him as a suspect in the robberies and attempted to place him under arrest.

The suspect resisted and struggled with officers before a civilian stepped in to assist.

After being arrested, police recovered a quantity of narcotics found on the suspect’s person.

Thirty-eight-year-old Stephane Duchesneau faces numerous charges, including two counts of robbery, resist arrest, possession of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He’s been remanded to the District Jail following an initial court appearance.
