Traffic stop leads to drug bust

KENORA, Ont. -- A Highway 17A traffic stop last weekend led to a drug seizure in the Northwestern Ontario city.

Officers with the OPP pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation around midnight on Sunday and discovered a small quantity of illegal drugs in the car.

The OPP say the man was in possession of four ounces of mushrooms, marijuana and an undisclosed amount of prescription pills. 

A 48-year-old man from Red Lake has been charged with three counts of possession for purposes of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

He is scheduled to appear in Kenora court in October.
