THUNDER BAY -- The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has issued a swimming advisory at Sandy Beach at Chippewa Park.
The advisory is based on samples taken on Aug. 19.
The permanent advisory at Chippewa's main beach remains in effect.
Swimming advisories do not close the beach or stop people from swimming, states the release from the health unit.
"They let swimmers know about the water conditions. Swimming in water with high levels of E. coli can cause skin, eye, nose and throat infections, as well as stomach illness," it reads.
