Council passed a resolution unanimously Monday that will head to its intergovernmental affairs committee and various local organizations before being sent to the federal government.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper recently dismissed calls for an inquiry, saying it's a criminal, not a sociological phenomenon and is best left to police.
