THUNDER BAY -- Two drivers involved in a recent crash that ended with a pickup truck slamming into a home have been charged.

In a news release issued by the Thunder Bay Police Service Wednesday morning, officers confirmed charging both drivers following the Monday afternoon crash at the corner of Martha and Van Norman Streets.

Police say the 22-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was exceeding the posted speed limit as he headed eastbound on Van Norman Street.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old female driver of a sedan failed to yield at a stop sign and proceeded into the intersection.

The pickup truck driver swerved before crashing into a nearby home.

The male driver of the truck has been charged with careless driving and the female driver of the car has been charged with a stop sign violation.
