A Marathon man wanted in an alleged domestic dispute has been found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Bobby Charbonneau, 26, was the subject of an intense manhunt since the Aug. 31 incident. Police warned nearby residents to stay in their homes and then later to ensure their doors were locked at all times.

Several search teams, including the OPP canine unit, were brought in to aide in the search.

Charbonneau's body was found Wednesday evening at about 6:50 p.m. in a wooded area south of Hemlo Drive by emergency response team officers.

A post-mortem is scheduled, though the location and date have yet to be determined.
