THUNDER BAY -- City police have set up a tip line as the investigation continues into the Chapples Park murder.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials on Thursday announced that a special tip line had been created to help with the homicide investigation that began Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the police’s criminal investigation unit at 684-1055.

Anonymous tips may also be sent to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.tipsubmit.com.

On Wednesday, Police spokeswoman Julie Tilbury said a passerby found the body of an as-yet unknown male who was pronounced dead after police arrived at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

The murder set a dubious mark in Thunder Bay, the most since statistics have been recorded, breaking the previous record of seven, set three times in the past 30 years.
