THUNDER BAY -- Investigators have determined that a major blaze at a Redwood Avenue home last week was the result of a cooking accident.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue investigators responded to the fire at the duplex early Wednesday morning.
The fire had already spread to the attic of the home by the time firefighters arrived on scene.
The fire caused an estimated $300,000 in damages to the home, completely gutting the unit it originated in.
A neighbouring unit had also sustained damage, although it was much less severely impacted.
Twelve people lived in the two duplex units.
