THUNDER BAY – One of the city’s premier running events is coming up this weekend and organizers are asking motorists to be advised of impacts on traffic.

A series of road closures will be in effect throughout the city Sunday morning and early afternoon for the fifth annual Thunder Bay Marathon- Miles with the Giant.

Some of the major streets that will be closed include sections of Cumberland Street, Court Street, Park Avenue and Fort William Road.
There are also a number of intersection where uniformed police officers will be directing traffic.

Organizers of the race say most of the closures will be in place from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Residents who live directly on the race course are asked to park on the nearest intersecting street Saturday night if they need to access their vehicles.
