Union Gas looks to lower rates

THUNDER BAY -- With cooler temperatures starting to set in Union Gas is providing good news for their customers. The utility company has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for permission reduce their natural gas rates by about five per cent.

THUNDER BAY -- With cooler temperatures starting to set in Union Gas is providing good news for their customers.

The utility company has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for permission reduce their natural gas rates by about five per cent.

Union Gas spokeswoman Andrea Stass said the reduction, if it is approved, would take effect Oct. 1 and will amount to close to $50 per year for the average home owner.

The company conducts a review of their rates every three months.
