THUNDER BAY -- The reconstruction of the Court Street bridge is on schedule and expected to be completed by the end of this month.

The bridge has been closed to both pedestrians and vehicles since the old bridge was demolished back in June.

City project engineer Mike Vogrig admits the work crews did run into some problems during the initial construction phase.

But he says there will be unforeseen issues with every construction project.  For this project it was an extra layer of old sidewalks.

The reconstruction of the bridge is costing around $1.6 million, and the route should be open before Halloween.
