THUNDER BAY -- Heading  to the U.S. in the near future? expect to answer questions about Ebola upon your return.

Canada Border Service Agency officers are now asking a series of questions related to potential Ebola exposure at the Pigeon River Border Crossing. Travellers at other Canada/ U.S. border crossings are being asked the same series of questions.

Included are questions on general health and travel history.

Those identified as having been in an affected West African country in the past month are automatically referred to a Quarantine Officer for a mandatory health assessment.

CBSA officials say the new procedures went into effect last month and are simple precautionary measures.

They stress that despite the new questions, the spread of Ebola to Canada is still believed to  be unlikely.
