Suspect robs south-side convenience store, flees with cash and cigarettes

THUNDER BAY - Police are seeking a knife wielding suspect accused of robbing a south-side convenience store early Sunday morning.

The suspect approached a Waterloo Street Mac's location and threatened a male employee who was outside the store, brandishing a knife and led him back into the building before demanding cash and cigarettes.

The employee complied with the demands before fleeing to the bathroom and locking the door.

The suspect is described as a 5'3" Native Canadian with a slim build wearing black and white checked hoodie with a light coloured hood, dark pants and no shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
