Crash, impaired driving charges send Red Lake man to courtroom

OPP news release: (RED LAKE, ON.) – On April 18, 2015, at approximately 1:29 am, Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a report of a motor vehicle collision which occurred on Pugsley Street in the Municipality of Red Lake.

(RED LAKE, ON.) – On April 18, 2015, at approximately 1:29 am, Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a report of a motor vehicle collision which occurred on Pugsley Street in the Municipality of Red Lake. 

Officers attended and found that a motor vehicle had struck and knocked over a street light before leaving the scene.
As a result of this investigation, Gregory DESMEULES, age 23 years of Red Lake, has been charged with the following offences:

• Impaired driving contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada,
• Drive over 80 milligrams of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada,
• Fail to remain contrary to the Highway Traffic Act,
• Fail to report damage to property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

DESMEULES is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on May 28, 2015 to answer to the charges.
