THUNDER BAY -- Police say there is growing concern surrounding the disappearance of a 42-year-old Thunder Bay man.

Terrry Brasseur was last seen on the evening of April 16 in the Academy Drive area.

Const. Julie Tilbury of the Thunder Bay Police Service said Monday their investigation continues into Brasseur’s disappearance.

“Investigators have started a preliminary investigation and based on the information they’ve been able to receive, and based on conversations with family members, there is some concern for his welfare. So we are appealing to the public to see if anyone has seen Terry or knows where he may be and try to encourage him to contact his family so we can check on his welfare,” Tilbury said.

Brasseur is believed to have been wearing shorts, a T-shirt and a ball cap at the time he was last seen. He was driving a white 2013 Ford F150 XTR with oversize tires, a lift kit and bearing the Ontario licence plate AA54777.

“Anytime someone goes missing for a period of time and there’s a concern for his welfare, of course the longer they’re gone, the more concern there is,” Tilbury said.

It’s too soon to draw any conclusions, she added.

“Because he’s an adult, sometimes they go and take a leave from town and not let anyone know. We’re hoping he is safe and we’re just doing the most that we can and appealing to the public. If anyone has any information, let us know so we can try to find him.”
