Man triggers fire alarm while in OPP custody

MALE CHARGED WITH MISCHIEF
In the early morning hours of Saturday April 25, 2015, officers arrested a male subject for public intoxication on Front Street. After being lodged in detachment cells, the accused proceeded to tamper with the holding cell fire suppression system, causing it to go off. As a result of the damage caused, 24 year old Cameron STEWART of Sioux Lookout was charged with mischief under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code. STEWART was later released from custody and will appear in Sioux Lookout on May 26, 2015, to answer to the charge.


TWO CHARGED FOR BREAK AND ENTER
During the evening of Saturday April 25, 2015, officers responded to a report of a break and enter to a Seventh Avenue residence. Neighbors had observed suspects enter the residence and contacted police. Upon arrival, officers located two suspects still inside the residence. Charged with break and enter contrary to the Criminal Code is 29 year old Michael BINGUIS and 22 year old Natasha WHISKEYJACK, both of Sioux Lookout. Both remain in custody at this time.

SIOUX LOOKOUT OPP REMIND CYCYLISTS TO WEAR HELMETS
With the spring weather finally here, many residents have taken to the streets on their bicycles. However, the Sioux Lookout OPP have observed most youth riders to not be wearing their helmets. Residents are reminded that if you are under the age of 18, it is mandatory to wear a helmet while on your bicycle. For operators under the age of 16, the parent/guardian can be fined for permitting their child to ride without a helmet. In hopes of boosting helmet compliance, the Sioux Lookout
