Human remains found by MNR fire crew identified

OPP News Release (DRYDEN, ON) – On April 16, 2015 officers with the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate suspected found human remains located along Highway 17 approximately 10 km west of Vermillion Bay.

OPP News Release 

(DRYDEN, ON) – On April 16, 2015 officers with the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate suspected found human remains located along Highway 17 approximately 10 km west of Vermillion Bay.

The remains were located by a Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) fire crew who in turn contacted the OPP.

The investigation involved the assistance of the OPP North West Region Forensic Identification Unit and OPP Crime Unit personnel under the direction of Detective Inspector Peter Loree of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

A post mortem examination was conducted in Toronto.

The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Donald BONNER of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.

The circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated, but at this time no foul play is suspected.
