THUNDER BAY -- The investigation into a house fire Thursday afternoon on Simpson Street has wrapped up.
Police and fire crews stopped traffic to the 800 block of Simpson at around 3 p.m. as smoke could be seen billowing out from windows. Fire Officials have now determined the cause to be accidental and a fire investigator will not be sent to the scene for further investigation.
It was believed that the basement was the starting point for the blaze. No one was injured, and residents of the home were able to evacuate safely.
