Aaron Rivers no longer with Bombardier company says

THUNDER BAY -- A Bombardier official who was the target of a high level of union criticism during last summer's extended strike at the Thunder Bay production facility is no long with the company.

Bombardier has confirmed that Aaron Rivers, general manager of the Thunder Bay plant during last year's labour dispute, has stepped down from his position.

Immediately following settlement of the strike, Rivers was promoted to vice-president of operations.

But company spokesperson Stephanie Ash says Rivers has now decided to pursue other interests outside of the company.

The move comes at a time when Bombardier is dealing with criticism from the Toronto Transit Commission over delays in the delivery of needed streetcars.
