Man suffers life-threatening injuries in Kenora assault

KENORA, Ont. – A 56-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a vicious assault. Kenora OPP officers were called to an assault in progress at a First Street South apartment building at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

Kenora OPP officers were called to an assault in progress at a First Street South apartment building at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

As a result of the incident, 25-year-old Ethan Copenance of Kenora has been arrested and charged with assault. He appeared in court on Wednesday and remains in custody with a next court appearance scheduled for Friday.

The North West Region Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Unit continue their investigation.
