THUNDER BAY -- When over 2,800 people bought tickets to Thunder Bay's first craft beer festival over the Aug. 13-15 weekend, there was little doubt BrewHa! would be back for another round.

"We're very pleased with the outcome of the 2015 BrewHa! and after our debrief and looking through the success of this year, we're pleased to announce we're going to make this an annual event," said co-host, Jon Hendel.

Hendel said the waterfront event that attracted microbreweries from all over Northern Ontario was intimate with the right crowd, without being crowded or having long lineups.

BrewHa 2016 is tentatively set for the second or third weekend in August. With this much advance notice, Hendel's confident next year can be even bigger.

"We love beer so we're not going to put any limits on it. We're going to invite anyone and everyone who focuses on craft," he said.

"American (brewers) want to come here so bad but the process was so long. Some of the processes might be changing this year so that might ease it a little. We're going to get those application in as soon as possible so we can hopefully diversify the group a bit more."
