UPDATE: According to the Thunder Bay Police Service the bear has been tranquilized by the MNR, and is back on its way to the forest.
THUNDER BAY – The dimly lit images may be hard to see, but these two photographs (second shot below) sent in by Kimberly McCullagh show a bear taking an early morning stroll down a residential neighbourhood.
The Photographer says the bear was on the corner of Dawson and Stokes Streets, heading North on Stokes toward River Street near 5 a.m.
According to residents in the area, city police were canvassing the neighbourhood before 6 a.m. and had been warning people about the bear.
Residents say they were told the MNR would be setting up a trap for the animal.
