The city has named Kerri Marshall as its general manager of city infrastructure and operations.
Marshall takes over the role after serving several years as director of the city's environment division and succeeds the now retired Darrell Matson, who stepped down earlier this year.
Marshall brings nearly two decades of experience in the design, construction and operation of public waste water, solid waste, transportation and parks infrastructure, city officials said in a release issued on Tuesday morning.
She has worked for the city for the past 12 years.
"Kerri brings a wealth of experience and proven leadership to the position,” said city manager Tim Commisso..
“She performed exceptionally well in all facets of the competition and in her Acting role to date. Her vision for the Department, particularly related to building a strong leadership team, working closely with Council and implementing the new Strategic Plan, are areas that definitely stood out for the selection committee.
"She will be an asset to the Executive Management team.”
