Suspected impaired driver hits vehicle, house

(MARATHON ON) –On Monday October 7, 2015 at approximately 11:40pm officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marathon/Manitouwadge detachment were dispatched regarding a possible impaired driver of a motor vehicle in the Town of Manitouwadge.

The vehicle was observed hitting a vehicle and leaving the scene as well driving at high rates of speed in town. When officers finally located the vehicle, it had hit a house as well as caused damage to other properties in the Town of Manitouwadge. 

The 21-year-old male driver,  of Manitouwadge, ON, was arrested and charged with: 

·         Driving Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Alcohol
·         Driving with more than 80mgs of Alcohol in 100ml of Blood
·         Fail to Stop at the Scene of an Accident
·         Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
·         Mischief Under $5000.00
·         Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2

The male was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of November 25 in Manitouwadge ON. in regards to these charges. The investigation is continuing with possibly more charges being laid at a later date.
